Work out a job quote from labour hours, your hourly rate, materials markup, call-out fee and contingency, with NZ GST at 15%.
How the quote is worked out
Labour = hours × hourly rate. Materials = cost × (1 + markup %). Then the call-out fee is added. Contingency is a percentage of that subtotal for the unknowns you find once a job is opened up. If you're GST-registered, GST is 15% of the GST-exclusive total.
Put the GST-exclusive and GST-inclusive totals on the quote, and say which one the client pays. Many residential clients expect a GST-inclusive figure.
